Witness #8: Jacob

At the close of Jacob’s life, Joseph brings his two sons to their grandfather for a blessing to be pronounced on them. The first evidence of faith in Jacob is that he is so near death that he had no chance of seeing these blessings come to pass. He pronounced them trusting that God would fulfill them.

Jacob has lost his eyesight so Joseph assists by bringing his sons to their proper location with Manessah by the right hand (because he was firstborn) of Jacob and Ephraim by his left. But Jacob crosses his hands puts his right hand on the head of Ephraim and gives the blessing of firstborn to him. When Joseph objects, Jacob says that he knew he was blessing Ephraim instead of Manessah. But how did he "know?" He was moving by faith led by the Spirit of God!

Jacob was too weak physically to hold himself up and so he leans upon his staff to worship the Lord. However, his faith was stronger than ever!
