"The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.” (Isaiah 1:1)

How amazing is the patience and long-suffering of God!

The prophecy of Isaiah spanned the reign of four different kings and lasted more than seventy years. All the while, Judah was diving deeper and deeper into sin and rebellion.

Before we get upset with God’s chastisement in our lives, perhaps we should consider how long He suffered us before He intervened. Then, we might remember that it is only by His mercy and love that we are not consumed in His wrath every day.

Further...
If we consider ourselves to be justified in losing our patience with fellow humans, perhaps we should take a moment to consider the longsuffering of a Holy God toward rebellious men.
