Witness #5: Abraham
12 November 2013
What if someone were to tell you to leave your homeland, your family, and your religion all at the same time? What would you do? What if, on top of all that, you were not told exactly where you were going? That is exactly what God called Abraham to do. Noah had to trust God when he was told that it was going to rain for the first time in the history of the world. Abraham had to trust a God with even less information than Noah had. Remember, being all in for the Lord does not mean you know everything, it means you trust God for everything.
Abraham was a sojourner for the rest of his life. Even when he settled in the land that he was promised, he continued to seek another country. He continued to seek a place even closer to God. We, like Abraham, need to realize that this is but a temporary home for us. This earth is our short home. We seek a long home. So, we should walk by faith in this foreign land trusting the Lord will finally deliver us. God has told us to get out of this world and seek a better place. Our faith is the evidence to us that God has promised us a heavenly home.
