Witness #9: Joseph
21 November 2013
Once again, we have an example of faith that clearly shows a trust in God completely outside man’s ability to act. Joseph trusted that the Lord would fulfill His promise to Israel and deliver them out of Egypt. He had so much faith in the promise of God that he told his family to take his bones and bury them back in Canaan's land when God delivered them. Joseph knew that it would be a very long time until the promise was fulfilled because he didn't tell them to take his body. He knew only his bones would be left. He trusted God’s timing, not his own.
This example of faith is excellent in that it clearly shows that faith is sometimes just a complete trust in God, knowing there is nothing we can do to help Him. Rather than feeling helpless, we need to gain strength like Joseph. We should have hope even though there is a possibility we will not see all of God’s promises fulfilled in our lifetime. God’s will shall definitely come to pass!
