As Moses grew older, he learned his true heritage as a Jew. He saw the mistreatment of his brethren and was moved to anger and action. He renounced his loyalty to Egypt and sided with the slaves sharing their hard and oppressed fate. Moses did all this “esteeming the reproach” of his Savior, Jesus, Who had not yet come into the world!

Now that is faith.

He turned away from the power of Egypt and fixed his eyes on the Invisible Omnipotent.

He kept the unusual commandment of the passover meal, trusting that the Lord would preserve the firstborn from destruction.

By faith, he raised his hand marking the fact that God was dividing the waters of the sea wherein he and all Israel walked across on dry ground.

Moses, by faith, experienced all of these things without even knowing the name of Christ. How much more then should we trust Him whom we know by name and as a Friend?
