Walk in the Light
3 January 2014
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. - Ephesians 5:6-14
The devil is not going to come straight us. He will attempt to deceive us the same way he did in the Garden. If he can convince us that what what we are doing is not all that bad, he has pushed us on our way down a slippery slope. He will use our friends, family, or any other means necessary to destroy our pure minds.
Even if we walked the dark path of sin before, it is time we walked in our new life in the light. We need to be proving to ourselves the blessing of walking the same walk as Jesus Christ. To even talk about those living in sin (or viewing it on the computer or in movies) is sin as well. We need to wake up and live in the light of he righteousness of Christ.
Paul is not telling us to get born again so we can act properly. He is telling us to wake up out of our sleep and realize that we have already been born again. We are now capable of performing good works. It is time that we joined the game of following the leader and walk in the sunlight right now.
