Still on the fence?

10 July 2014

"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles." (Acts 2:41-43)

Have you felt the love of Christ dwelling in you? Has the gospel been a message of comfort to you because you see yourself as one of those for whom Jesus died?

Then, what are you waiting for? – Follow the Lord, STEADFASTLY.

Those that continued steadfastly and faithfully were not just the Apostles or those that had been with Jesus while He dwelt here on earth. The 3,000 people that were just converted and baptized were immediately stedfast as well!

Now, back to my questions. I am not asking these questions to those who have not been converted and baptized. The ones in the text had already taken that step.

I am talking to the ones for whom church has become a routine or tradition. I am talking to those who once had a passion for Christ but the pages of their Bibles have not seen the light of day for some time. I am talking to those who are church leaders that need to lead once again. I am talking to fathers who have neglected their duties as Christ in the home. I am talking to those who are still debating about whether or not they should attend church every Sunday. I am talking to those preachers who have fallen into a rut and have stopped shouting glory from the pulpit! I am talking to...you fill in the blank.

Do you love the Lord as much as He loves you? Then, show Him that love today, and tomorrow. Be STEADFAST!

Remember:

"For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required" (Luke 12:48b)

Jesus gave His life for you! He gave you eternal life! You will be with Him forever!

Is it unreasonable for us to give Him our lives every day while we still live in this world?

After years in the church, are you still on the fence?
