The VOICE

7 January 2015

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."(John 5:25-30)

I have a challenge for those who believe they can cause someone to be born again by preaching to them.

Go to the nearest cemetery and began reading from the gospel to all the graves. Do you believe that bodies will start resurrecting from their resting places? Of course not.

Men preaching the gospel, or even reading the very words of Jesus, cannot cause the resurrection of the dead. It is the voice of Jesus that will raise the dead upon His return.

But look closely at the text! Jesus says it is the same voice that causes someone who is dead in sin to be made alive in Christ. It is not the preached word that causes the new birth. It is the sovereign power and work of God.

It takes nothing less the VOICE of the Son of God! And He speaks directly to the heart and soul of each of God's children.
