“Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.” 1st Thessalonians 5:26
I don’t think that God commands us to actually kiss one another on the cheek whenever we meet, but this does remind us that we are to have a very close fellowship with the saints of God. In particular, we should be actively involved in the lives of our fellow church members.
We need to be outgoing and ready to help. We also need to open up and accept help when we need it.
This kind of fellowship does make us more vulnerable. But it is that trust and safety we have with one another in the church that makes the bonds of love much stronger than any earthly tie.
