“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18

Contrary to the popular teaching Christendom today, the return of Jesus Christ is not going to be in secret or questionable by anyone. No, it will be nothing short of spectacular!

Paul says that Jesus will descend from heaven. This was promised by the angels in Acts 1 when Christ VISIBLY ascended into heaven. Therefore, Christ’s second coming will also be visible. This is confirmed in Revelation 1:7 when John declares that every eye shall see Him.

Further, Jesus is going to shout in great power and God’s trumpet will ring out. So, not only will everyone see Jesus in the clouds, they will hear Him as well.

As if that is not going to be convincing enough, those who are still alive at His return will witness the glorified bodies of the saints of God raise from the dead and start ascending to heaven just like Jesus did.

There are many other points of Scripture that tell us of this great day of the Lord that is coming. We do not know when it will be, but Jesus Himself said it will be like when the lightning fills the sky. There will be no doubt that the King has come for His own!
