Jesus Is The Mighty God

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6
A quick Internet search for images of Jesus will return something I consider to be most disturbing. Contrary to popular opinion, Jesus was not a long-haired, skinny, pacifist hippie.
Yes, Jesus taught meekness and to live peaceably with others. These were excellent discipleship lessons. But the Bible also describes Jesus as the Captain of the hosts of the armies of heaven. Jesus is a mighty warrior!
Let's let the Bible speak for itself:
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. - Revelation 1:8
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! - Matthew 8:24-27
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. - 1st Corinthians 15:26
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords. - Revelation 19:11-16
This is but a short list of the many descriptions of our Warrior-Savior. Our Redeemer came lowly, but when it was was time, He showed forth His power and conquered the devil, death, hell, and the grave. He rose as the Son of God with power on the third day, and He reigns in glory right now!
