What Are You Waiting For?

13 June 2014

"Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; and looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus." (John1:35-37)
come unto me

When John points out the Lamb of God to two of his disciples, what do they do?

Do they hesitate?

Do they ask for more information so they can think about it a little while?

Do they ignore John's intention to follow the Savior when he points to Jesus?

The answer to all of the these questions is an obvious "no." But how is it with you?

Do you know that Jesus is the Son of God? If you do, that is evidence to you that you have been born of the Spirit of God. You are one of the elect!

Knowing this precious truth do you then hesitate to follow Him or delay with worldly excuses?

Has the modern definition of wisdom so clouded your judgment that you feel it necessary to continue gathering information so that you can remain objective and "open-minded?" Let's not forget that most "open-minded" people have closed their minds to the fact that God exists!

Has the preacher shown you what tender mercies and graces God has given you? Has he pointed out to you the Savior of your soul? Do you know that He is your Redeemer and yet you remain idle?

What is there that is better than being in the presence of the King? What is it that causes your delay? Health? Wealth? Family?

Remember the words to this old hymn:

"If you tarry 'til your better, you will never come at all."

So why do you delay? Now, is the time to follow on. Choose today whom you will serve!

What are you waiting for?
