What Seek Ye?

14 June 2014

“Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?” (John 1:38)

If you came face to face with your Savior and He asked you, “What seek ye?” How would you respond? The answer of these disciples seems strange at first but it is actually the best answer anyone can give!

We have so much that we can learn from and about our Savior that there is not a sufficient single response to this question. Our desire should be as the early disciples’ desire. We should long to be with Jesus every moment we can. He is our Redeemer and has called us friends. The best way to truly know more about the Lord is to spend time with Him.

This close fellowship is not found by simply attending church once or twice a week. Formal public worship is our duty to our King. However, it is our joy and privilege to spend time in fellowship with Him even when we are not at church. The disciples wanted to stay with Jesus for at least the night!

Our relationship with our Savior is secure based on His work on the cross, but our quality of fellowship with Him is based on our choice to make Him the top priority of our life!

There is no career that is as fulfilling as dwelling with the Lord. There is no material wealth that can match the peace He gives. There is no higher education than to know more about Jesus!

So, I ask you, “What seek ye?”
