"And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid." (Mark 5:15)

What are the results of a single encounter with the Son of God?

Nothing short of a radical and fundamental change from the inside out!

The man that was once naked is now clothed. The man who had no home but among the tombs and wandering the mountains is now sitting at the feet of Jesus. The man who had no control over his mind and could not be controlled by others is now in his right mind and calm.

Without the grace of God, every man in his natural state is similar to this wild Gadarene. Not that he is inane or possessed with devils, but that he has no purpose, Godly reasoning, or righteousness he can claim.

But after Jesus speaks to the heart of the child of God, he is radically changed.

He saves him from the bondage of the old sin nature. He gives him a right mind to serve Him so that he now has purpose. He clothes him in Christ's righteousness. He now has a desire to be with Him.

The old nature is not taken fully away yet. That will happen in the resurrection. But there is a fundamental and radical change that has happened and this new nature in man motivates him to seek after the things of God.
